Presenze confraternali e inediti cinquecenteschi. Nuove evidenze per una rilettura della Chiesa di Santo Stefano Primo Martire a Cugnoli
Simona Manzoli
This essay deals with an original sixteenth-century cycle of paintings, which can be found in a private home in the village of Cugnoli and which is related to a completely unknown local confraternity. Thanks to the discovery of nineteenth-century archival documents, the essay contextualizes the cycle within the varied architectural building site of the nearby parish Church of Saint Stephen the First Martyr in Cugnoli, renowned for its pulpit constructed by Nicodemo in 1166.
