Accademie Patrimoni di Belle Arti.
Un libro e un convegno
Federica De Rosa
The volume Accademie Patrimoni di Belle Arti, edited by Giovanna Cassese, was published as the frst result of MIUR-AFAM’s advisory board on the cultural heritage of Italian Academies of Fine Arts (Accademie di Belle Arti). It was presented on occasion of the symposium Patrimoni da svelare per le arti del futuro. Primo convegno di studi sulla salvaguardia dei beni culturali delle Accademie di belle arti d’Italia (July 13-15, 2013), which was curated and organized by the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, in partnership with the Italian Ministry (MIUR-AFAM)
Directorate-General. The volume considers Italian Academies, their history and their heritage (which often are the product of several centuries, dating back to the Renaissance, Baroque, or Enlightenment periods) within the national debate on cultural heritage. The reconstructed events show multiple connections, not only in terms of the circulation of artists, but also of collectors’ choices and trends that brought (and bring) academies together. The academies’ tangible and intangible heritage clearly testifes abouttheir professional, artistic, and art-historical/theoretical traditions.
