La forma della città: Volterra
Denise La Monica
The ancient town of Volterra is strictly connected with the history of its ancient walls. Since Etruscan Age, in Roman, Medieval and then in Modern Age the walls have strongly characterized the shape of the town and, more recently, its contemporary appeal. Even in Medieval ofcial acts, called Statuti, it is possible to find regulations about the duty to restore, repair or build sections of walls. But in 2014, in two diferent places, sections of walls have been collapsed. These current episodes alert citizens and scholars about the actual and future risks for the ancient town.
