Oltre le Digital Humanities. Ripensare il museo di arte contemporanea dal punto di vista dell’innovazione tecnologica e sociale
Michele Dantini
In this essay the author explores new trends in museology and points out potential connections between “fine arts” and the world of technology. While referring to a few institutions already experiencing collaborations between artists, researchers, designers and technologists on an international level, he calls for drastic shifts in the field of Digital Humanities in order to expand conceptual and educational borders. If redirected Digital Humanities can contribute, in the author’s opinion, to the creation of new professional skills and model politics of education in more inclusive ways. Dantini insists upon the social-economical mission of the Digital Museum: the whole institutional agenda of the (new) museum is supposed to change if exhibitions and “shows” are no longer the main issue.
