La Galleria Multipli: arte moltiplicata a Torino (1970-1975)
Filippo Yahia Masri
The Galleria Multipli was founded in 1970 in Turin by Giorgio Persano. During its period of activity, from 1970 to 1975, the Multipli contributed to the growth of contemporary art in the city by specializing in the production of multiples. The gallery’s work represented a concrete opportunity for the democratization of art pursued in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In addition to the gallery’s history, the major testimonies regarding multiples have been herein considered by examining the main sector magazines of the time. Finally, the catalog of the Edizioni Multipli, attached as an appendix, has been reconstructed.
