Musei e identità: un intreccio difficile
Gerardo de Simone, Emanuele Pellegrini
The identity of museums is more and more a critical issue nowadays: new museums are raising everywhere, from the Arabian peninsula to Eastern Asia, not to say of “exotic” offshore seats created by best known “brand” museums such as the Louvre and the Guggenheim. Traditional museums compete with contemporary exhibition sites (usually designed by stararchitects); national ambitions and international vocations co-exist, often dialectically and problematically interweaving.
