The knowledge of the seismic history of a country is essential for the protection of its environment and cultural heritage. For this reason we considered important to publish a short interview to three researchers in Historical Seismology at the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (‘Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia’ – INGV). This little known discipline aims to shade light on past earthquakes, successfully combining skills from both humanities and natural sciences, and offering a huge mass of information on Italian seismic history from the early Middle Ages to today
