L’OEil et la main Michel Laclotte : redécouverte des peintures italiennes dans les musées de France et transmission d’une méthode
Nicolas Joyeux
A major figure in French art history, former director of the Louvre Museum and founder of the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art (INHA), Michel Laclotte was also, and above all, a lover of painting and the greatest French connoisseur of the Italian schools during the 20th century. An exceptional teacher, he left his mark on several generations through his standards and his unfailing commitment to the history of art and to his students, to whom he offered a method that we propose to present in this article.
