The article presents new findings and reflections based on the analysis of two unpublished paintings in the Dominican Convent of San Marco in Florence. In a rather unexpected way, the two pictures prove to have visible connections with contemporaneous Latin American, Portuguese, Spanish, and South Asian paintings, objects, and prints. Online searchable databases and internet search engines allowed the reconstruction of a global network of artistic and cultural exchanges in a way that would have been otherwise impossible to detect.
