La voce dell’ICR: Giuseppe Basile e il restauro
Simona Rinaldi
The death of Giuseppe Basile (January 2, 1942- July 30, 2013) was a major loss in the field of conservation
of art and cultural heritage in Italy. Basile represented the Central Institute of Restoration for twenty-five
years, during which he directed many conservation treatments and he edited many publications. The examination of available bibliography leads to reflect upon the role of art historians and their contribution to the conservation of cultural heritage.
