Costruzioni interminabili. Psicoanalisi e marxismo nel dibattito critico degli anni Settanta: il contributo di Menna e Trimarco
Maria Giovanna Mancini
Dedicated to the analysis of Italian critical debate in the 1970s, the essay reconstructs, in particular, the reasoning and outcomes of the theoretical proposals of Filiberto Menna and Angelo Trimarco. Italian critical
debate in the 1970s was on the one hand characterized by the crystallization of themes and lexicons which had been renewed in the preceding period and, on the other, had been marked by the progressive loss of contact with the artistic experimentation of the time which had withdrawn to autonomous positions. In this scenario, the theoretical activity of Menna and Trimarco, which precisely in those years referred to semiotic disciplines, to the study of Marxism and psychoanalysis, on the other hand characterized itself as a specific taking of sides which aimed not so much at summing up a single sense of the work, but rather at crossing through it, through its depth, while avoiding running aground on “pre-constituted contents” or on “its syntactically formalized structure”.
