Vers une Europe Latine. Acteurs et enjeux des échanges culturels entre la France et l’Italie fasciste
Annamaria Ducci
The volume explores the cultural and artistic relations between Fascist Italy and Republican France in light of the notion of latinité. Conceived as an ideological instrument of the diplomatic alliance between Italy and France, latinité became in the interwar period an artificial aesthetic category, functional to a conservative classicism. The book thus traces known and unknown cases of the artistic exchanges between the two countries during the 1920s and 1930s, focusing on their political implications.
